My mom lost her very similar cat (who is named Jackson!), and setting up a motion sensor camera on the porch was key to getting him back. We discovered he was coming around late at night, when things were quiet. I stayed up all night with the door wide open for him, and he finally came back in around 5am, after 8 days outside.
