I totally get this. I know this I live in Atlanta Georgia. It’s the same here. It’s just been my experience in the past 30 years of trapping homeless dogs and so forth. It’s just what my gut is saying I don’t know what the facts are not there you’re right about all of that. I just don’t want you to think I’m being pushy because I’m just trying to look at this from every angle to support you. I’ve just owned too many homeless dogs from freeways and once I’ve had to trap and it just the telltale signs are there, but I think it’s fantastic that you were taking every stretch to find the owners I I agree with you. It’s just a breed that has the configuration for abandonment and homelessness and neglect statistically anyway reach out if there’s anything more that I can help in anyway I’m sorry if you think I’m being pushy, I don’t mean to be.

Pamela Jeter I appreciate the input. However, legally and ethically, one is expected to make a reasonable effort to find the owner of a lost dog. Under the law, pets are considered personal property, and keeping a found dog without notifying authorities or attempting to locate the owner can be considered theft or failing to report found property. "In Shelby County, Tennessee, you should hold a found stray dog for a minimum of 3 to 5 business days (3 days for strays without ID, or 5 days if microchipped or tagged) to allow an owner to claim it, but legally, private finders do not automatically gain ownership rights to rehome someone else's lost property right away. To safely and legally rehome the dog, you should file a found pet report with Memphis Animal Services or local county animal control." It is the weekend and we have not been able to file an official report yet. We are doing our due diligence and attempting to follow the law. He doesn't need to be surrendered because we are capable and willing to care for him in the meantime. Remember what they say about assuming. You are correct, he may have been dumped. But he also may have squeezed thru a gate or between someone's legs as they opened a door or slipped his collar on a walk. One of our neighbors has a horse that exited their field thru a hole in the fence no one knew existed. If we see him, we aren't gonna just throw him in the pasture with our horses. We are going to contact his family and get him home. Because, it's the right thing to do. I would hope if any of our babies went missing someone would do the same.

Wow i’m so sorry you’re interpreted my efforts. That way. I’m really shocked. I’ve been in Rescue a long time. I’m sorry I just don’t think that his owners took care of him and have abandoned him. That’s what I think has nothing to do with you. I really wish you the best of luck and thank you so much for saving him.

Pamela Jeter well, it's a good thing I'm not a defeatist. I'm a loser, not a quitter. I'm sorry you have so little faith. He is currently in a safe place with lots of land and other animals. As I said before, rescues have been contacted. None have replied. Honestly,your pushiness for us to get into a rescue is a little unsettling and I'm kinda questioning your motives at this point. At the moment, our main concerns are its health & trying to locate its ACTUAL owners. If you lost your kid camping in the woods, would you want whomever found your kid to just give them away to someone else or would you want them to try to reunite you? It isn't unheard of for people to get their fur babies back months and even years after going missing. We are and will continue to do everything we can to reunite them. In the meantime, this thing couldn't ask for more love or attention. Food, vet care, affection and training are what we have here until we get it back home.

I would not count on finding the owners at this point I would try to just focus on finding new loving guardians and having as many of us help you as possible there are about six great Pyrenees rehoming Facebook groups. I’m that are just exclusively finding your papa a new home, the only other obstacle is having somebody help you Vet people so that it’s going into a safe home. There are probably a handful of rescuers who can help you that people one main thing is to ask for people‘s Vet veterinarian contact information so you can ask the vet if they are regular patient there’s also big fluffy dog rescue group. I think they’re out of Tennessee. You might want to reach out to them, perhaps offered to foster the dog until they can find a home for him.

More than likely he’s been dumped. Please connect him with a rescue if possible or crosspost him on GP Facebook adoption grps and have a rescue grp help you qualify people to adopt. Thank you helping him to safety
