I need help figuring out how to get this bird to go away. It has killed seven of my 12 chickens in the last 24 hours and I am afraid for my miniature poodle to be injured or taken.

Melinda Peters you love birds more than a little dog or cat that would be yours? Makes no sense. I love all animals I've been vegan for 15 years. I harm no animal unless it's in self-defense, and in this case it would be. So don't act like I don't love animals. I love my animals more than any predator taking them and ripping them apart. Would you just stand there and let one attack you if you had a way to protect yourself? Get it

Melinda Peters yeah well if it comes to the well-being and safety and life of my dogs IDGAF. And you are correct about watching our pets. I have a cat and two Yorkies and I'm always outside with them when they go potty. My two Dobermans I don't worry about but I'm sorry that's like saying shooting a pellet or bb gun at a bird,most likely not hitting it is illegal compared to it taking one of my small animals, that ain't happening. My dog's lives are worth more than that bird trying to eat it. We have packs of coyotes where I live and just like anyone would protect their child if they had to an animal so it didn't their child, yes, by any means necessary.

I work in wildlife rehab. It does look like a harris hawk. They are non native. There is a falconer who is missing one but it was a while ago. I have to work in lake elsinore until 2. But I can stop by after and see send me a pm
