I need help figuring out how to get this bird to go away. It has killed seven of my 12 chickens in the last 24 hours and I am afraid for my miniature poodle to be injured or taken.

Memoree Joelle my house my yard my rules not yours and I'm not going to keep my dogs locked in a house when I have my own backyard secured by block wall. Feel sorry for people like you who will let their animals be ripped apart and you'd probably just stand there if you were attacked and let them tear you apart

I’m so sorry about your chickens. This appears to be a Harris’s hawk, and the gear visible on its legs suggests it may belong to a falconer. Please bring the remaining chickens into a secure, covered enclosure and keep your poodle indoors or supervised. Don’t try to catch, feed, or injure the hawk. Call Animal Friends of the Valleys at 951-674-0618—they provide animal services for Menifee—and tell them about the attacks and the leg gear so they can help coordinate a safe response and locate its handler. Please keep a record of sightings and photos from a safe distance.
