Message from Owner

Vlad is our beloved senior kitty. He slipped out the back door late Saturday (5/9) evening and hasn’t been seen since. We’ve checked all our cameras and have walked and driven through all the neighborhoods surrounding night and day since. Vlad is an exclusively indoor cat who is extremely affectionate and believes everyone (and everything) is his friend, which makes him at a greater risk of danger. We are worried sick and each passing day makes us more and more concerned. Please please help us find him!

Tammy LostandFound hey there! I’ve done about 90% of these tips and am so hopeful one will bring him home. One of my coworkers is lending me two humane traps tomorrow - one for the backyard near the portion of the fence he slipped under and one for the front porch where we last saw him. I am so stressed.

What to do if you lose your Cat 1. Search all places inside and around your house as cats can hide in small places. 2. Shake their treat bag and softly call their name. 3. Search at dusk and dawn with a flashlight as the light will pick up their eyes. Outside they tend to hide under shrubs, under porches, in open sheds & drainage ditches. You can shake their treats while looking outside too. 4. Put something with your scent on it outdoors, on a porch or deck if possible or in a garage with the door cracked. Sometimes the scent brings them home. You can also put out their litter box but depending on where you live, it could attract predators. 5. Post on nextdoor & Ring Neighbors app. 6. Post on pawboost. You can download a free flyer here. 7. Make a lost pet report to all the local shelters especially in areas that have close boundaries. 8. Post on FB Lost & Found Groups 9. Post on PetFBI site and use .org as the ending. 10. If chipped, report to chip company but don’t forget to change status when your cat is found. 12. Ask your neighbors to check their garages and sheds. 13. Last you can rent a humane trap at your local shelter and set it with some tasty food. If you have a lot of predators in your area, you may want to skip this step. Your cat may be coming around the house late at night.
