Post on Nexdoor and Ring, report to shelter as lost and check in person. Place unwashed items of clothing with strong familiar scent outside your front door area and hanging from a tree to attract pup back home dogs can follow the scent from far away. Ask neighbors to check security cameras perhaps something useful was caught on video. Hang flyers all over, if chipped call chip company. Check with homeless people some like to keep stray dogs. Hope pup is found safe.

Post to NextDoor Check shelter website 24petconnect .com City of San Jose Animal Care & Services AND County of Santa Clara Animal Services in San Martin Put up flyers. Help him smell his way home - Creating a dog scent station from a rescue who helps reunite pets. Take an unwashed article of THE OWNERS clothing.( Socks , Sheet, Underware & Hang it in a tree ,on a fence , a pole or edge of roof & put an article of unwashed clothes on ground below. The wind will carry the scent. If there is another dog in the home take that dog's fresh poop and rub it on a rag & hang it high . Open your gates. Your garage door , turn on all your lights. Put a rug or towel on porch with a bowl of water. Do not put the dog's bed or the dog's toys outside. The only scent we want is from the owners. Please do this ASAP. Rain or Shine.A dog can find its way back from miles by following a scent. They don't operate like humans on sight or sound. Also saturate the area with bright flyers.& file a lost report with your local shelters and check those in person in case your dog is there.
