Jess Clarke Well thanks for sharing. That’s news to me, and a big change from what I’ve known and the experiences others have shared with me. If all true, then that’s great. I wish all county shelters could make such improvements. I do wish shelters would do background checks on potential adopters, especially if they’re police run shelters, which seem to have better access.

***POST NEXTDOOR, RING NEIGHBORHOOD, PET FBI, PETCO LOVE LOST, PAWBOOST, PAW GUIDE APP Check ✔️ Humane Society, Animal Shelters In-Person DAILY. Some Keep Pets 5 Days then put up for Adoption. Boots on the ground - Walk ur neighborhood 2X DAILY, DAY & NIGHT, CHECK BUSHES 1st!!! Check window wells, under decks, sheds, garages, behind AC units, dumpsters, under staircases, under BBQ covers, behind firewood. Indoor Cats don't go far, usually close by. Others hide during the day and roam @ night when it's quiet. Shake bag of cat food or treats, walking, calling by name, saying are u hungry, Bring a flashlight, search day & night. Knock on neighbor's doors. Post Flyer's on neighbor's doors

Elizabeth Suskind The Chesterfield animal shelter is not more likely to put them to sleep. They don't even euthanize for time/space. They euthanize if it's a severe medical issue that is causing a low quality of life or behavioral issues that make them a danger to the public. They constantly post animals up for adoption so not sure where you are getting that from. And they have a huge foster program for kittens. That said, they only take in cats/kittens that are sick/injured or too young to be away from mom and have been abandoned.

Andy Sym unfortunately every shelter and rescue is at capacity because of negligent people who don’t spay and neuter their pets. I feed ferals in the county I live in and the county I work in. It’s truly sad. I hope that sweet baby finds a loving home soon and thank you for caring enough to do what you can.

Elizabeth Suskind they actually do have a page where they show cats and dogs for adoption. I see it frequently.

Elizabeth Suskind I still have him We’re going to check with neighbors tomorrow No chip He’s awesome and we will make sure he gets back to his owners or a new home I promised him he’d be taken care of And the rudeness at the shelter was not appropriate either

Thank you for caring and posting on pawboost.com. It’s too bad, Chesterfield animal shelter is probably more likely to put them to sleep. I never see anything from them about the animals they have for adoption and don’t hear many good things from people who have interactions, unfortunately. I hope that pretty cat didn’t belong to one of your neighbors. Please post on the Ring neighborsappand nextdoor.com.
