We’re missing our bird Pete 🐤💔. He flew away this morning from the Round Tree apmt complex in Concord. He’s a light grey and yellow spotted cockatiel with orange cheeks. He will chirp when called by name. If you see Pete, please let me know.

Here are some ideas to assist in your search. *Create a post on Pawboost, NextDoor & Ring, if you haven’t already. *During the daytime: use a wireless Bluetooth speaker to broadcast flock calls or your voice, shake treat bags or anything that might attract attention to food, put the cage out where it can be seen. *During the evening when searching is over, design & print off flyers with photo & contact information. These can be encased in a ziplock to keep weatherproof & posted in areas where allowed like parks, poles & any nearby gathering areas. Also drop off some at vet clinics, pet supply stores, anything within a 5 mile radius. Contact local shelters/rescues & even the police dept - they do pick up found/stray pets all the time. Make sure the world knows - neighbors esp ones that have bird feeders/baths/pools. Hand them out while searching the area. Join every local social media group there is. Run an ad in your local newspaper - some run one for free in lost & found (or cheap). Also check with local bird watcher groups - they’re always out & about. Flyers cannot be placed in mailboxes. *PLEASE CHECK WITH LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTERS & FILE A MISSING PET REPORT*

I once rescued a lost cockatiel. It was high up in a tree and wouldn't move for hours. I tried using a ladder and waving a seed stick. It still didn't move. I checked the classified ads for lost pets. Somebody lost a cockatiel named Kiki. As soon as I called out, "Kiki", it came right to me. I put it in a box with a lid, and brought it to its owner, 15 miles away.

Can someone tag Parrot 911 alert, lost&found cockatiels, and for the owner, post this on the Nextdoor app too. And also, post on the lost and found pets in contra costa county. I lost my cockatiel here too, and used those sources. Hope you find him 🩷
