Eric Mucci no, not necessarily. Many of us have cats at home who have ears tipped.It's a basic thing most rescues do after neutering/spaying and then adopting out.

Jeanne Dubray my sister works at a shelter and they tip the ear and then find them homes not put back outside. Many ppl have cats with ear tips so that doesn’t mean much except that it’s fixed. So many are being abandoned, I always help no matter what ear tips or not.

Ppl think a cat with an ear tip is feral / not always true.. many ppl have friendly indoor cats with an ear tip .. help this kitty period!!! And so many are being dumped.
