Benny's Owner Says

Thanks guys who helped spread the word and offered advice; I found him, with a dislocated hip, in the bushes not far from where he jumped. I checked there twice and the second time it was here. He has seen the vet and is on pain for his injuries, which have been treated. Thank you all. I will not be leaving the sliding screen door unlocked anymore!

If it jumped from the 4th floor balcony, I would be checking all of the hedges and nooks & crannies around the building. If he survived the fall, he could have crawled under a hedge or in behind something. If you find him and bring him home, please don't let him out on the balcony anymore unless you enclose it (very well) with chicken wire. 😿

Tina Murray-Neeb Never put the litter box outside. It can attract predators and then the lost cat will not come back into the area. Better to put out it's blanket and some of the owner's worn clothing.

I will keep an eye out for him . Go outside between midnight and 4 am with a flashlight and look under decks and behind garages etc . I found my lost cat at night with a flashlight which reflects off of their eyes, less than 20 feet from my back door, in between a fence and the back of my garage .

If this is an indoor only cat that never goes out, look close. Indoor only cats when lost get scared and hide because it is unknown territory and usually do not come out when you call. Usually are within 3 or 4 houses . Put out something with your scent such as a piece of clothing or blanket. Call at dusk, dawn and night and shake the treats. Get in your neighbour's yards and look under decks, sheds, in trees, bushes or anywhere they can hide. Put up lots of posters. If you are searching at night, use a flashlight as their eyes glow in the dark. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=388310901737884
