Spotty is 8 years old and he has never been aggressive in any kind of way. We just want him back he is afraid of fireworks and with 4th of July right around the corner we want him back and safe.

First things first. If he's chipped (I hope), notify the microchip registry right away that he's lost. Waring his collar with his license and ID and microchip tags on it, I hope? That's another great way to help lost pets get back home safely and quickly when they go missing. Post on Nextdoor, the Neighbors app (Ring), Lostmydoggie.com and Petharbor.com, the first two to reach the largest number of your closest neighbors, and the last to for more FREE widespread publicity. Like Pawboost, the last two have separate pages for LOST and FOUND pets, so a match often occurs. Check back at all of these sites daily. Post fliers all around your neighborhood; take some to veterinary hospitals and shelters, and check back often. Leave something of yours or Spotty's outside - a piece of unwashed clothing or a towel or blanket, a doggie bed or favorite toy - so he can detect the scent of home. Spotty is adorable - that sweet face!! I hope that something will work to get him back home safely before the fireworks get even worse. Best of luck.
