Gray tabby. Really skinny. A cuddly bug.

Message from Finder

He was first seen on my property about a week ago and appeared again with a bleeding toe and full of scabs. I took him to the vet for some treatments and a chip scan (nothing found). Assuming there is no owner, he was also given a list of vaccinations as well. He will be neutered next Friday. I really hope to find his owner (if exists) before next Friday so that I don't have to make any difficult decisions. (He is not using the litter box, so his options to have a safe, indoor future home are limited. I am brainstorming really hard right now...)

Faye Norris I think he is just used to outdoor potty and do his business while marking around the neighborhood. I am going to talk to the vet though… but since he can go when I take him outside and wait for a while, I think (and hope) it’s not UTI 😬 And he has no interest in catnip… Maybe he’s not a cat 😭

Kathy BauerClark Thanks for the suggestion. I already tried this because cats usually just follow their smell, but it wasn’t the case for this cat 😢 The would rather hold until he can and go on the floor or pile of things (I assume these are the closest to the ground and bushes outdoor.) I tried different litters but no luck so far. I’ve been creating “fake bush” indoor (he doesn’t really like it but might use it if he can’t hold anymore… like 16 hours) and taking him outside (which worked so far 😭)

Thank you. I'd put a some of his poo in the litter box and then put him in it after he knows what the box is for give him a treat. It worked for my kitten.

You are very kind for helping this beautiful boy. Could he have any infection as to why not using liter box? Did the Vet have any ideas? I would try putting catnip in liter box?
