Collected from rescue friends of mine🐈🐈 - *Do NOT put out a litter box or food because it will attract other animals and wIll make it more dangerous for your kitty to come home. You have to go out at night when it is dark and quiet. They never go far. They go to the first safe spot they find and stay there. Take a flashlight with you so you can see the eyes glowing back at you. If you can..leave a window open and your garage door cracked open. Get out there every single night and call their name and listen. Early morning as the sun comes up is a good time also. I would add that you should not approach the cat if you see it approaching. When outside, most often, cats who are not used to being outside will not recognize their owners and will run. They are in survival mode. If your kitty likes chasing laser light, try moving that around under the bushes at night to see if it can lure your kitty out from hiding. If this works, continue to have your kitty follow the light to the house.

Put flyers on telephone poles in the area so your neighbors are aware. I would put them in plastic sleeves should it rain. Or give them to your neighbors in person or leave by their front door. You may get a call with a sighting. Check shelters in person in nearby towns. Call police departments. Post to your town’s local Facebook pages. 💕🙏 https://www.buddhadogrescueandrecovery.com/pages/posters-generate-sightings

I I Cats do not go far from where they get lost. He is probably terrified and hiding under a bush, shed or under a house. Go out frequently esp at night with a flashlight and search. Keep looking at same places calling softly. Alert neighbors, mailmen, dogwalkers. Borrow or rent a humane trap and cover with a piece of your clothing. Put in smelly food such as tuna or sardines. Check frequently. Don’t give up. It may take some time. Good luck. Beautiful kitty Many signs everywhere as not everyone is on fb.
