🐾 TIPS TO HELP FIND YOUR MISSING PET 🐾
• Place your dogs bed/blanket outside. Dogs are able to get home by sense of smell.
• Make a large LOST DOG sign with pictures. Place in your front yard!!! So people can see where to bring your pup back to if found.
Place signs with pix in the window of all your cars, or on a parked car window BIG enough to see from the road or driving by . It should have your PHONE NUMBER printed boldly. And any reward - if offered.
• Make a FREE post on lostmydoggie.com. This is sent to shelters and vets in your area. Flyers can be printed from this site to distribute.
• Walk the neighborhood 2-5 blocks giving out flyers door to door. Squeak it’s favorite toy as you walk calling your dog’s name. Tell kids.
• FLYERS WORK!! Post everywhere allowed - Community mailboxes, doorsteps, store windows intersections and let the Mailman, UPS/FED EX drivers know giving them a flyer. Post flyers in a 5-10 block area around where the pet was last seen.
• Post and Check Craigslist daily. Go to “Community” for your area and go to both "Lost and Found” and "Pets” section. Check if a new posting is there already of a found dog like yours. Check sections for dogs being sold. Lost Dogs of pure breeds are being found for sale.
• Make a Lost Dog Report at the Animal Shelter. GO DAILY IN PERSON (pets are only held 3 days). Look in every kennel for your dog. SHELTER WEBSITES DO NOT HAVE ALL THE PET PHOTOS UP SO YOU MUST GO IN PERSON! Look at the front desk for the registry book listing dogs fostered outside of the shelter and look for flyers on their bulletin board.
• Post on various FaceBook sites with a PHOTO, CITY and LOCATION LAST SEEN within a 100 mile radius. Search FaceBook for local to your area Lost and Found Pet sites as well as Neighborhood Watch Sites. Post on Petharbor.com, PawBoost.com and FidoFinder.com too. Tell your neighborhood by signing up for Nextdoor.com. It notifies your neighbors registered on the site for FREE.
• Postings similar to your Missing Pet you should contact due to drastic changes in appearance from bad lighting, fur growth, cleanliness, environment, stress or medical condition.
• Pets taken or stolen have been found over 100 miles away due to being dropped off or transported by a finder who takes it home. Some even try to rehome or post for sale. So watch for all postings with similarities.
• With new information or recent sightings please update your posting including the fact they came home!!!!!!
