Standard suggestions (change the pronouns as necessary): Put out anything with her scent on it, and be sure to continue putting food/water out for her. If you have a trail camera (or can borrow one), set it up. Leave your garage or screened in porch open in case she shows up in the middle of the night. Ask any neighbors with Ring doorbells or security cameras to check their footage since she disappeared. Be sure to file a missing report with the shelter - go there in person and check every couple of days as the shelters are all currently short staffed and don't have time to match intakes with lost reports. Notify area vets, and if you have an HOA, ask them to send a blast to residents. If any of your neighbors have had crawlspaces, garages, or sheds open or any construction, make sure she hasn't gotten closed up somewhere. Go out after dark with a flashlight calling for her and shaking her favorite container of treats. Post flyers in the neighborhood and go door-to-door, talking to your neighbors and handing out flyers. Give flyers to area delivery personnel such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, Amazon, etc. Ask kids in the area to keep a look out for her. Post her on Nextdoor, Pawboost and on Lost and Found Pets Hampton Roads Facebook page as well as any Lost and Found Pets and any 411 Facebook pages specific to your locality. If she's microchipped, be sure to notify the registry - and make certain your contact information with the registry is current - so many microchipped animals cannot be returned to their families because their contact information is out of date or the microchip was never actually registered.

Please check in person at the Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter on Jefferson. They can’t help over the phone, too many dogs. Also check vets and te two ER vets on 17. Call them, you can always text a photo. Hope you find her. 🌸🐾

The scent stations really work! Witnessed it from cat and dogs missing a week. Go out calling for her especially at night. Put her fav persons dirty laundry, her bedding, smelly food, leave a gate or garage door opened (cracked) so she can get in and feel safe in her house or yard🙏 she's not hurt laying some where 🙏 safe return💝

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR DOG GOES MISSING... ❤🐾🐾❤️🐾🐾❤️🐾🐾 •SEARCH-when dog 1st goes missing...bring sliplead and stinky treats...sightings are most likely in the early mornings and evenings... • SET a SCENT STATION-place stinky dirty laundry and a bowl of smelly human or can dog food in a safe and visible location at your house or homebase to help your dog find their way back...utilize cameras to monitor whenever possible... • TELL EVERYONE you see your dog is Missing... •POST on all social media (*Lost & Found Pets Hampton Roads, VA, Pawboost, Nextdoor app and Neighbors app)... •FILE LOST REPORT with Animal Control... •UPDATE MICROCHIP INFO •MAKE FLYERS-keep it simple with ONE Big Picture and a Contact phone # s and place an upsidedown plastic page protectors sealed tightly with clear tape and place on poles at intersections and coming out of neighborhoods onto main roads using clear packing tape (Never use staples or tacks that puncture page protectors)... •CHECK Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter daily or at least every couple days In Person... *Please keep us updated*
