Indoor cats do not travel far outside, because they are too afraid. They will hide any in place they fit; in shrubs, garages, under decks, holes in the ground, etc. Start looking for them immediately when you realize they are missing. Shake their favorite treat, or put their favorite food near your door. The food needs to be watched as it will attract wild animals. Put their favorite blanket, pillow or toy and an item of your clothing on your porch. The lost cats usually come out of hiding at night when it’s quieter. Go outside with a flashlight, their favorite treats and shine your flashlight in places where they could hide. The light will reflect their eyes. You can also use a laser and point it on the ground of hiding places and your cat may react to it. (Just read about this) Check your security cameras and ask neighbors to check their security cameras for any sightings of your cat. Let your neighborhood, especially your immediate neighbors, know that your cat is missing. Put up flyers in your neighborhood. Post clear pictures of your kitty on Kent County Lost and Found Pets, West Michigan Lost and Found Pets, and check the posts daily. Go directly to the Animal Shelters to check if Kitty is there. Some of the clerks answering the phone don’t always know about the animals which have been dropped off. After several days, contact MARY HUMPHREY, the wonderful caring Human Saint of lost pets. Send her a message on FB. She will give you more advice and come with her traps etc. to help trap your pet. This also includes dogs. She does not charge, but spends hours looking for lost pets. Instead, she asks that you give a donation to Animal Shelters, or Groups which care for feral cats, etc. There are many such private groups on FB. In the GR area: Second Chance Cats, Focus on Feral, Mice’s Rescue, Fig and Friends, Pet Tales, and more.

Cats typically stay close to home. Go out when it's quiet and take a flashlight and a favorite toy or treat to shake when calling for them. Be prepared to crawl into a space to get them. Cats can become disoriented and you will need to go get them. Check crawl spaces with a flashlight. I had one that was disoriented that the flashlight caught the top of his ears. I had to crawl in and get him. I've found him in a bush another time. The flashlight caught the reflection of his eyes. I had to literally crawl into places for one of mine. The vet told me it's because they are territorial animals and can become disoriented. Put up flyers and ask neighbors if you might be allowed to look around for your pet. I have found mine under my home twice, once under a low deck, in bushes and even under a neighbor's car in their yard.

Aww poor little baby prayers post some adds up around the area asap check with your local animal shelter and humane society check with your local vets check with your local neighbors go out walking the neighborhood knocking on doors rewards always helps go out walking the neighborhood several times a day and several times very late at night shackling a treat bag Calling for your cat post some adds on paws boost and Craigslist and for the love of Louie and Kent County lost and found animals rewards always helps. You can also try putting your cats bed, blanket toys, and some of your dirty clothing from inside the house. Do not wash these items. Put these items out on your porch. Keep your eyes open animals have a great sense of smell change outside items every couple of days this works great for cats and dogs. This works for me and my cat prayers. Sharing Wyoming, Michigan.
