Homeless camps sites should be checked but casually. Don't say your looking for a dog. And please take someone with you, or 2 more people even better. 🙏🏽🐕

Post simple signs like this in your yard and neighborhood. (Put in a plastic sleeve/page protector first.). Check the Shelter(s) at least every other day - in person! You know your pet best. Set out a scent station - unwashed items with your and/or your pet’s scent (clothing, bedding, towels, toys, etc). This step especially important if in an unfamiliar area! If you have another dog, walk the area wish it on a leash. Post on the NextDoor app which covers your surrounding neighborhoods. When your pet is spotted, do not call or chase him/her! Just sit down on the ground and be very quiet. He/she is scared and any voices can push it away (even familiar voices). https://www.pawboost.com/blog/8-helpful-tips-for-finding-your-lost-dog/. Also, pet stealing is on the rise sadly. Check https://petfbi.org/how-to-protect-your-pet/stolen-pets/ for tips. Includes filing a police report, contacting your local media (TV stations, newspapers) and checking Craig’s List where your pet may be posted for sale. Check any nearby security camera footage. Community awareness often brings them home.

Keep looking .. walk the area he went missing from .. check homeless encampment areas, watch at bus stations, ask around ... look on ramps and stop light meridians where they are sitting with dogs ... also, don't lose hope eventually if someone has him hostage on a leash,,they mightvget tired of him or he might break free and look for home. Does he have tags?

From a friend... I pray you find your baby. They might check at AWD of course perhaps their dog was brought in but there's also a list of animals that are picked up that have been hit by cars/ deceased. It's so sad but if it were me I'd like to know even if it's devastating news. There aren't any pictures but the officer notes cross streets where found, color of collar, identifying coloring and microchip info. Just thought I'd pass that on. I don't know the officer that takes care of the westside but the one that works the Eastside of ABQ is a very sweet and kind/ caring guy.
