Dirty fabric item blankets, cat bed with your home. Sent outside your door along with food water covered from weather. Cats can pick up these scents 1 to 2 miles from home. Also, look under all nearby bushes. Sheds decks, cars, indoor cats don't typically roam far from their home. Use a flashlight at dusk. Eyes will glow.
