Message from Owner

Fernando, went missing Friday, October 2 from our dispersed camping spot about 1/2 mile from the Lost Lakes Trailhead off Lost Lakes Rd. - off Kebler Pass, between Crested Butte and Paonia. He is all black except for a little white patch on his chest, weighs 10 pounds, and is microchipped. He's spent his whole life living in the mountains, is an indoor/outdoor cat, and camps with us frequently. We were unpacking at our campsite with Fernando and our two large dogs nearby. There was no commotion or anything else out of the ordinary, and he has never wandered off like this before. We hope he was spooked and wandered toward another campsite or trail, or that someone found him and picked him up thinking he was lost. He is a huge part of our family, and we are worried sick! We are still at the camp spot, searching daily. We are offering a REWARD for any info that leads to his safe return. If you see him or have any information, please contact us right away. We are still at the same spot, searching for him daily. Thank you so much in advance! Rachel & Devin

Suzan Reynolds thank you! 💕 We’ve done all of these things, plus some! A friend of ours operates a non-profit that helps find lost pets in the mountains, so she’s given us a massive amount of invaluable info and tips too.

Please go out at night after traffic noise has down, shine flash light under bushes and things cat can hide under and also in trees. Check out any green spots looking back at you. Call cat and wait for a meow back. CRITICAL INCASE CAT IS TRAPPED SOMEWHERE; start from where cat went missing and workout for a radius of 2 miles, knock on doors and ask in person if they will check sheds, garages, window wells, and other outside buildings for cat. ALSO, put cats bed or an old pair of your tennis shoes to help cat know where your porch is. NOT, a litter box that will attract other animals that may keep your cat away. Scared cats usually don't travel far from where they go missing and will wait for YOU to come find them. Also stop by local shelters and rescues everyother day to see if cat has been. turned in. GOOD LUCK
