Lost cat Put your dirty laundry on the porch. Slap the house with dirty socks and tee shirts —- cat nose high. Get your scent on the wind so the cat can follow it home. Leave door slightly open. Go out after dark with a flashlight and look for reflective eyes. Look up every tree. Unless chased, the cat is close by. All cat owners should condition their cats to come for food with a sound. Some owners shake the food bag, some make a clicking sound or whistle, we clink a glass bowl with a spoon. They get fed when they respond. These sounds are invaluable when a cat has strayed. Do not put out food or a cat box… these attract predators.
