Message from Owner

🚨 PLEASE HELP US FIND CORDELIA 🚨 Even if you don't live near us, please share this post. Someone who knows someone in the area may recognize her. Our beloved cat, Cordelia, has been missing since around 6:00 PM on Monday, June 8th from our home near Mt. Hope & Pennsylvania in Lansing. This is extremely unusual for her. She is an indoor-outdoor cat who normally comes home for dinner every night and has never been gone this long. 🐈‍⬛ Black cat with green eyes 🍋 Wearing a yellow lemon-pattern breakaway collar (if still on) 🐾 EXTRA TOES on all four feet (polydactyl paws) — her most distinctive feature Cordelia is a rescue cat who was abused before we adopted her. She is very sweet with our family but is shy around strangers and may run if approached. We are especially worried because it rained shortly after she disappeared, and she may have sought shelter and become trapped somewhere. PLEASE CHECK: • Garages • Sheds • Under decks and porches • Crawl spaces • Outbuildings • Anywhere a frightened cat could be hiding If you see Cordelia, please do not chase her. Instead, note the location and send me a message right away. We miss her terribly and just want her home safe. ❤️

Sabrina Louise Just looked. It's not her thank goodness. It's bittersweet. I really hope we can find her but also I just want to know what has happened to her.

Marie hoping it’s not your kitty. It’s someone’s though. ☹️

Marie it’s pretty obvious… it’s the ally on the north side of Marcus between S. Clemens and Fairview. Kitty was right on the curb, near entrance to the alley.

Sabrina Louise Thanks for the heads up. I'd like to look. Can you give me an address to look near? Or a block? I don't know where the alley is. Thank you!

Marie Schaefer, sadly there is a black cat near the alley at Marcus and S. Clemens. Looks like they were hit by a car very recently. I hope it’s not your Cordelia, and I probably won’t be walking that way because of them. My dog doesn’t need any temptation.

I have 6 cats myself, each very distinct in their faces (three are siblings, that all have different bone structures). When I saw how sharp/narrow this cats chin was, it stood out, and remembered yours. Again, if this is not yours, I am truly sorry. Keep hope ❤️ You have a community wanting this return, with you.

I DO NOT intend to give any false hope. Please forgive me, if this isn’t your baby - my page is darn near dedicated to reuniting fur families.

Take treats, and a flashlight, out with you and call him in the quietest hours of the early morning around 3-4 :30 a.m. when your voice will carry farther. Look in hiding spots and trees, and listen for him. Most indoor cats don't go far when they get outside they get scared and hide during the day and come out at night when it's quiet and dark. They often try to return home during those hours so be watchful for him then. Put something outside your home with your scent or his scent on it to help him find his way home. Put up colored flyers around your neighborhood and businesses then go door-to-door with one and ask your neighbors to check in their sheds and garages to make sure he didn't get accidentally shut in somewhere. Go to shelters IN PERSON as descriptions are not always accurate. Don't give up! Keep calling him! It may take him a while to come out of hiding if he is very scared or has wandered farther away but if he hears your voice it will keep him close by until he eventually gets brave enough to come out of hiding and follow your voice home. Sharing..💓🙏
