Most dogs return to where they were last with you if they can . Go back and put some of your dirty clothes or a blanket with your scent on it away from the road . He should return there . You can leave some food or treats . If you see him he is probably in survival mode so sit down and whimper don’t yell or look him in the eyes hold your hand out still not looking at him with a treat in still whimper. Once he is close enough through a lead over his head until you can safely leash him . Good luck I hope he finds his way back to you !

He will remain near where you’re last together so go there and sit. If you cannot then leave your scented laundry and food somewhere safe from the road and check often. Best wishes.

He may go back to the accident site and wait for you! Please notify the police to keep an eye out for him also the nearby shelters! A lot of people offer drone services to look for missing dogs. You might try that route.! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Have you tried the shelters? Is he chipped? If someone finds him maybe they will take to a vet and scan him.
