LOST PET TIPS Things to do ASAP if you have lost your pet: • BEWARE OF SCAMS! Do not send money or google codes. Report or block scam phone numbers. • Place scent items & a food station near escape point. • Instruct everyone to not call out to or chase. • File Reports with Police, shelters that cover your area • If microchipped - report to chip company that your pet is lost & verify your information is up-to-date • If you have an electric fence - turn it off • If lost from a fenced yard - secure other pets & open gate • Spread the word: use social media, lostmydoggie, nextdoor, pawboost • Create a simple flyer • Notify neighbors, ask them to check cameras, sheds, garages • Check Shelters in person • Record all sightings in a notebook - date, time, location, direction of travel.
