If he is an inside cat chances are he hasn’t gone too far. Get a flashlight (good one with a good strong beam that goes far), a safety vest (get at Home Depot when u go for flashlight), small Tupperware with food and or bag of treats to crinkle. I was also armed but this is your choice. Go out at night between 12-4am whilst everyone is asleep and it’s quiet. Walk slowly around your neighborhood and call for him. Use your normal non stressed voice just like you’d call him in the house, loud enough for him to hear but don’t yell. Leave pauses in between so you can hear HIM if he calls back to you he could be stuck in a back house with or garage, or come to you wuhen he hears you. Shine that light everywhere including UP in the trees, under porches and cars you will catch the reflection in his eyes if you come across him. Do this as often as you can. Also. Hang your dirty laundry outside and his used litter box. Even if it’s not “his” in there he will recognize his siblings scent as well and try and put something at each corner of the property. Are there other cats outside? Do you have a trap? There’s also a chance he could come back at night whilst you are asleep so you can set a humane trap for him. If you are going to do this make sure you get clear instruction before you do. Feel free to PM me for that. My Pooh Bear was gone for 37 days and he came home so don’t give up. FLYERS and make sure to ask people to please check their back houses and garages on the flyer.
