John A. Brassner I cannot confirm that what she witnessed was about the Frenchie I fostered yesterday. I don't think it was the same dog because my neighbor brought it directly to my house. The Frenchie ( Canelo) got out around 7 am yesterday and my neighbor brought it to me around 8am. There's no physical way he could have driven to the shelter and back in 45 minutes, so I believe the dog Melika saw was a different Frenchie.

This Frenchie does not have a microchip according to my vet. Last night (July 9, 2026) at around 9 PM, the apparent owner posted that this dog ran out the door at 7 am. The apparent owner lives within 1/2 mile of me and I sent them my cell number. As of this morning, July 10, 5 am, I've received no call. Based on the pics in their post, I'd say this Frenchie is as close a match as possible based on markings, face shape, body shape, etc. I'm fostering this good boy until I can get him home to his family.

I JUST SEEN THIS DOG AT THE ANIMAL FOUNDATION WHILE LOOKING FOR CARTER OUR MISSING YORKIE MIX. I WAS JUST GOING TO MAKE A POST ABOUT THIS. WE WERE JUST AT THE ANIMAL FOUNDATION AND A LADY. AND HER FAMILY HAD THIS DOG, THE ANIMAL FOUNDATION ADVISED THEM TO KEEP THE DOG SINCE HE DIDN'T HAVE A MICROCHIP. AND THEY TOLD THEM IF THEY WANT THE DOG TO JUST WALK OUT WITH HIM AND THEY DID. I was appalled. Im sorry this happened to your dog. They didn't leave any information with the foundation. ALSO THEY ADVISED THEM TO GO GET HIM MICROCHIP. THAT WAY THE DOG WOULD OFFICIALLY BE THEIR DOG. THEY SAID THEY WOULD. 😓 SAD SAD WORLD WE LIVE IN. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU.
