Searching for him is the fastest way to get him back: 🐾 Sad seeing so many kitties go missing just this week. Poor baby, he must be so scared and hungry out on his own. And with New Year’s Eve, approaching the noise will scare him further away.! When a cat goes missing, they can’t easily find their way home using only their scent. You must be proactive and look for them. 🔦 Look under cars, bushes & hedges, look for glowing eyes w/flashlight, call his name at dusk when it’s quiet and they come out from hiding to eat. Posting is important, but please search for him, too. They don’t go far, 3-4 houses away, they stay in one place until they are scared off by dogs, coyotes, or loud noises. The challenge is finding him before he gets further way. 📣Please hang flyers near the area he went missing, it’ll let your neighbors know you’re looking for him and get the immediate attention from pedestrians and drivers. You’re the one that can bring him home safely, he’ll recognize your voice, footsteps and your scent. Post on ND, check SDHS Lost & Found daily. If you’re able to find Sammy PLEASE, please don’t let him out unattended. Cats have the intelligence of a 3yo, they don’t know the dangers, they face outdoors with coyotes, dogs, cars, and worst of all evil people who don’t like them in their yard. It only takes an hour to train a cat on a leash, then he can be outdoors safely with you. 🐈‍⬛ Good luck finding this gorgeous little guy, you’re in coyote territory 🐾💙🐾

Go out around 3am with treats, a plastic cup calling kitty's name. Cats honker down and will not come out until it is quiet. Bring a can of wet food just in case too. If treats do not lure kitty out. Kitties do not go far, about 2 blocks, but hide. Bring a flashlight and shine in bushes and under cars looking for eye shine. Kitty may not meow out of fear, but listen for a faint one after calling its name. Then head to the meow with flash light to find eye shine. On a darker note, if it is a coyote issue, coyotes never finish everything. Ask your neighbors and/or gardeners if they found any remains and what fur color it was. At least you may get closure. My cat was hiding under my neighbor's house crawl space and also hid across the street for 30 days. It took me 5 more to lure him home. He did not meow then. Now he does and never wanders away anymore. So do not give up hope. Post pics of kitty around the area with contact info. Check shelters in person with pics of kitty to see if they got it. Good luck

Notify San Diego Humane at 619-299-7012.select option 1. Go to the Escondido campus of San Diego Humane at 3500 Burnet Drive to check for your cat! Closed Mondays. Please have your neighbors check their garages, sheds and vegetation. Place pieces of your unwashed clothing on your porch. Open your garage door just enough for your cat to slide underneath. Post flyers.

. I also hope that these tips help. Most indoor cats will stay very close to home, but they will go into hiding because they go into survival mode, especially during the day. If it’s at all possible for you to put some recently worn clothing, bedding, a cat tree, if your cat has one near a open door window or garage where the cat will have access to return home, they usually will do it between midnight and 3 AM in the morning. Do not put a litter box out because that will attract other predators such as coyotes, raccoons, skunks, etc. At night time, you can also take a flashlight looking under cars in trees and bushes Taking with you a bag of treats if your cat is treat motivated, calling its name softly staying low to the ground, shaking the bag and using the flashlight to possibly light up your cats eyes. Sometimes they can stay in hiding for days so don’t give up. Hope these tips help and that you’re beautiful. Cat returns home safely and soon🙏🐈‍⬛❤️ don’t give up sometimes they can stay in hiding for over a week until they get really hungry, especially when a lot of commotion is going on during the daytime. And if your kitty hasn’t returned after the rain that hit they will probably bunker down somewhere safe out of the rain also so you might want to keep that in mind too. But hopefully your kitty will return before that.
