Message from Owner

Jade got out of our back door when the wind blew it open when we were not . She is friendly but likely will not come to you. My son is devastated. Please report if you see her.

I've been through this before. Often they are disoriented and will not come to you even if you call them by name. I've literally had to crawl into crawl spaces under my building and get one of mine. Once he was looking at me through bushes. My flashlight has helped catch his shadow and eye reflections.

As was said already, indoor cats tend to stay very close to home. And they remain very quiet because they’re spooked. You may walk by the same spot where he is hiding 2 - 3 times before he will let out a sound. So if you search your hours and he doesn’t come out, it doesn’t mean he’s not there. You may need to search the same area multiple times, especially later in the evening when it’s quieter in there are fewer people out making sounds. He will feel a little bit braver than and it would be a bit quieter for you to hear him if he makes a tiny meow.

Please go out and search for him. Indoors cats that get tend to stay very close to home. Probably hiding in plain sight. Please go and call his name. Shake a dry food container as most cats know the sound of that. Also put out some very strong smelling fish wet food. Having a food source will keep him close. Search under decks, bushes, cars, and small spaces a cat could hide. At night take a flashlight as this will catch a cats eyes. Put up some flyers and let neighbors know too. Sending prayers she is back home safely soon. She is definitely close. Indoor cats do not roam but rather are too scared and freeze in plain sight, so you must go and look for her. Repeat the search. I swear they are most often hiding in plain sight.
