I'm so sorry your sweet kitty is missing. Go looking early morning and just before sunset. This is when they're most active. Bring his favorite treats and toy with you and make noise with them while calling his name. Make sleeved flyers and hang them in a mile radius from your home asap. Make sure his picture is big enough to be seen from a vehicle. Also post to NextDoor if you haven't already. I hope he's home safely soon.

TIPS TO HELP FIND LOST PET: ✅Place his/her bedding, your shoes, a piece of your unwashed clothing (such as a sweatshirt, blanket, pillowcases) and food/water outside *if there is coyotes in the area bring the food in at night*. 🚫Do not put litter box outside. Putting the litter box outside can attract predators and other cats which might keep your cat from returning home🚫 *Putting out the other items listed above, are scents only your cat will recognize* ‼️ They might be nearby and can’t figure out how to get inside ***IF you have a garage or door/sliding door that can be left open*** Leave the garage/ or door cracked for them and place the shoes, bedding, and unwashed clothing in the garage‼️ ‼️Setting a trap on your porch, in garage or backyard is also a good idea. Many cats go into survival mode when out of their element and scared and may not come to you on their own. Most skittish cats will hunker down and stay nearby so a trap is very helpful as well. ✅Walk around the area calling them calmly early morning and late evening when it’s quiet & shake a bag of treats(if they like treats), or can of tuna etc. ✅If he/she is microchipped contact the microchip company to report him/her lost and make sure your contact info is up to date. ✅Hang flyers (use a bright colored board or paper) with picture in your neighborhood, surrounding areas, local shopping centers, businesses, vet's offices, groomers, etc. within a five mile radius from your home. ✅Go door to door with the flyers as well and try to speak with people when handing out flyers. ✅Make a sign with his/her picture and put it in your front yard stating he/she is missing. ✅File a lost report with the shelters in your area and surrounding area shelters ✅If checking shelters in person, ask to see the animals in isolation too. ✅Check shelter websites daily (as it is updated hourly) ✅Check shelter found reports for found postings but not at the shelter. ✅Take a flyer to the shelters. ✅File online with petharbor, pawboost ✅Post on area lost and found pet and community Facebook pages, area shelter Facebook pages, Nextdoor, newspapers and Craigslist under "pets" and "Lost and Found”

Leave some unwashed clothes outside so he can track your scent back home. Indoor cats are normally scared when they get outside and remain somewhat close to home. Have neighbors check garages and backyards and tonight go out with a light and shine it into low bushes around your home and close by areas. Check with SPCA as well.
