The owner of the pet is supposed to register the chip online. If you haven't done that, then do it immediately and report him as missing. You can also update your contact info on their website.

We put flyers in all the mailboxes in our neighborhood, and one lady said she thinks she might have seen him running into the woods behind her house. I know it isn’t likely, if he were able to do that, he would come home—but it still gives us hope. We’ve been searching the area calling. He is such a creature of habit… sleeps inside all day, go outside for a quick jaunt in the late afternoon then come back for feeding time.

we have been going out night and day to call and listen. He has such a tiny meow I’m so afraid we won’t hear him, especially with all the wind we’ve been having. At least the wind has calmed now.

Agree that he is probably not far from home. Go out in the middle of the night when all is quiet and call him.

Post on Nextdoor and look at night with a flashlight. His eyes will glow. Please do not take advice to put his litter box outside. Litter attracts predators.
