Message from Owner

Our indoor cat, Pebbles, ran outside on the evening of Thursday, October 8 and chased a neighbor's outdoor cat down Melrose Parkway toward Woodbury Avenue. We are hoping she is hiding somewhere nearby. Please reach out if you find her. Thank you!

Please follow a missing cat report with the Norfolk Animal Care Center. If the cat is chipped, make sure the registry has your correct contact number. Check the shelter several times a week. Tonight after 10 PM, go out of your yard with a bag of kitty treats and a flashlight. Walk around your yard quietly, calling your cat and shaking the kitty treats bag, check the bushes with the flashlight to see if you see your cat hiding. And your cats normally don’t stray more than 5 to 7 home from their own. Most likely she’s hiding somewhere around your house. Print flies with your cats picture and your contact information and take it around to your neighbors. Ask them to call you if they see your cat. I also asked them if they’ve been in their shed out building or garage since your cat went missing. Cats go in those places to hide and once the door closes, they cannot get out and they can’t be heard crying unless you’re standing right next to the structure. Look under porches, decks, and under any structure with a crawlspace.
