Message from Finder

We rescued this pup off the street. He is very skinny. His coat is matted and was full of fleas. He seems neglected but he is so sweet and friendly that I believe he was once well cared for. He's safely in our home. Dog and cat friendly.

Jesse Ans Zeida Ventura Did you post any missing dog flyers? Or a pawboost missing dog post? That would be helpful to see

I am not typically on social media, so I jumped in to try to help find who this little guy belongs to. I thought of a 10 day hold at animal services or sdhs, but they're all over capacity, sdhs is at almost 200% capacity!! So since we are seasoned fosters/rescuers I am fine caring for him as long as it takes. I will be seeing our vet next week for a physical. I'm worried about current immunization and such. I can't risk the health of my other fur kids or my family. Thank you all for sharing and for your caring comments.

Jesse Ans Zeida Ventura Without a microchip it's difficult to be sure. No offense whatsoever, just that people are not kind to animals. Do you have photos or vet records of any kind? I'd love for him to be back with family but it's clear wherever he was shortly before we found him was a neglectful home. I can feel his ribs and his hip bones also show. Any advice on safe reunification appreciated folks.

Julie Urgeleit-Naggar also, yes! I am a volunteer for Lionel's Legacy. We also foster seniors and have a bunch of amazing wonderful people that foster senior doggies. I have a forever foster I rescued through LL out of the Chula Vista shelter over three years ago. He's wonderful and welcomed this little guy with open heart and paws

Julie Urgeleit-Naggar I think you're right on point. The vet staff said considering his condition he was very likely an "outdoor" dog. Which is so cruel and unnecessary.

Sherry Peters yes, rescues are always so grateful. He's darling and was in such poor shape. Infested, so hungry, thirsty, and exhausted. He naps all lot but has interacted beautifully with our whole household so far.

Janet Brechtel yes, so I stopped by our vet's office. She even scanned around his body in case the chip traveled but no luck 😞
