Jamie Lee it's not unusual for a raccoon to go in the trap or any other animal. Try baiting the trap with KFC, rotisserie chicken, tuna or sardines. A video doorbell camera or trail camera can be helpful too.

Danica Skokut yes but a raccoon keeps coming and stealing the food and closing the trap door. He’s smart. I feel he may be keeping her away. Not sure what to do at this point 😔
