Stray Cat Sighting in Hacienda Heights, CA 91745

Petite white and grey cat. Friendly and sweet. Appears to have been dropped in our neighborhood to fend for herself 😢

We are in Hacienda Heights, This sweet young cat has been coming around for a few weeks. I believe she was just dropped in the neighborhood, as she doesn’t belong to any of our neighbors. I have been feeding her, as I don’t want her to starve, but she seems to have adopted our hse now. She’s not feral, and not afraid of us, and comes up to me and allows me to pet her willingly. Unfortunately we cannot take her in as we have two cats (both rescues). one is violently nasty towards the little one as it approaches the door, and has lashed out at us when we try to intercede. There is no way I can bring her in as our cat won’t allow it, and I don’t have enough band-aids in the hse to cover the wounds I would get🥴. Our other cat is over 20 years old with stage 3 kidney disease, so we can’t afford to bring in any additional animals. My biggest concern is that Our backyard adjoins the Puente Hills Nature Preserve, and coyotes come through our yard EVERY night. I am petrified she will become a victim. I will take her to see if she’s chipped, but I won’t do that until I have a family that can take her if she isn’t chipped. It wouldn’t be fair to get her, put her in the carrier, take her to the vet and then just dump her back outside. 😢
