He may have been chased off and will be back. Also, they get in car engines and are taken someplace else. Years ago I had a cat show up and lives in our barn. About 3 months later I realized she was declawed. I immediately put her in the newspaper, immediately got a call with a lady saying she thought it was her cat. She came to our house and immediately knew she was hers. She took her home. She lived 9 miles away.
