Ryan Gurley I'm sorry, but that just wasn't clear. I am involved in Lost Pet Rescue and see people all the time asking to take dogs that are found. So many of the people I have tried to help in the past find their lost fur babies have never been able to find them, because people keep them or give them away to others.

Brooke Hulton Mullins most rescues do not qualify as shelters and cannot take found dogs. They can only take dogs that are surrendered by the owners or dogs that are relinquished to them from licensed shelters.

Rhonda Bliss thank you so much for the information!! So true.. we took him to the Aurora Animal shelter and I posted him in several places: Pawboost, Nextdoor, and the PetSmart one... I hope they find his family soon, or at least a loving family adopts him soon 💓 I'll remember him forever 💓
