KC is extremely shy and skittish and will likely run if seen. He stays close to home and is likely hiding silently under a shed deck, crawlspace, or intense brush nearby.

Feather Morren, thank you! We have 4 traps. Two are located in an area where we think he may be, based on 1.5 hours of activity from our other cat Yuri’s tracker the day KC went missing, and 2 are at our home. We’ve been using tuna, sardines in oil, puréed meat, baby food, and water. I’m checking the traps quietly every few hours. I also found it interesting that after Yuri returned home that Friday, he never left the house again. Saturday, he never left the house. Sunday, he went to the street near the concentrated area, but never crossed the street. He came home, went to a different location, and was back home within 15 minutes. He never left the house again on Sunday, and he didn’t leave at all Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Yesterday morning, day 6, Yuri showed activity for 30+ minutes at Friday’s location, followed immediately by another 1+ hours of him pacing/walking the perimeter of our own yard. So, according to his tracker timeline, he was active for 1.5+ hours straight. I may be pulling at any hope I can find, but I really think Yuri’s tracker is telling us something. My hope is that KC may have ventured home but is still hiding somewhere. As hard as this is with no sighting, I’m trying to stay positive. Thank you again for sharing your experience with Jane. ❤️

You might try a live trap, they are fairly cheap on amazon, my Jane wanted to come back but was too overwhelmed and scared, she had made a home under a backyard shed across the street and wouldnt let anyone near her. I saw she kept coming around the doors at night and if i didnt have other pets, i would have left the door cracked and that may have solved it. Eventually she was found eating hamburger in the trap on my front porch and all was right again. It took about 3 weeks for her to show up and i did have to release squirrels and possums along the way which were easy. Tuna in oil also makes a lot of scent. Make sure there's water too. If its cold out, wrap the trap in a blanket and make sure to check it often, check it often no matter what the weather is. In fact, best to keep a camera on it. I believe in Jane's case, the live trap was her only chance. Best of luck and a swift resolve for you I hope

When he returns please keep him indoors. It can be dangerous outside for socialized cats - coyotes, hawks, foxes, vehicles, mean humans… https://www.americanhumane.org/public-education/indoor-cats-vs-outdoor-cats/
