Shared🙏🙏🙏🙏 This woman has great tips on her site . I used the one below as well as a friend of mine. I have her downloaded book which is a quick read with tons of good info . I will gladly email it to you , pm your email address ( too big of a file for messenger) . She even answered our questions about strays in our area that may hv kept my friend’s cat in hiding . Also if you can rent a trap from St cats in Nay Aug park , Griffin Pond Animal Shelter or No Nonsense Neutering in Plains that will be helpful. Leave the door he escaped from or window cracked open in evening when it gets dark . Buy a cheap driveway sensor from Harbor Freight ($14) place by door and wait . Don’t leave food at all times ( only supervised) or litter outside it will attract other cats or wildlife & drive him further away https://www.lostcatfinder.com/

Audrey Lewis if you are able to get a trap and either buy or borrow a cellular trail cam, you could set that up facing the trap. That way, as soon as your Kitty, or any other one would go in, you would get a notification. And you could go get it. And we usually suggest not leaving it set overnight. Unless you are able to monitor it closely

Donna Wojtowicz we left our front door open since we have two doors, nothing so far and we left our garage open as well so she has some safe havens to make it to , and we check them every night almost every hour 😞

Sharon Keisling Grimes we want to set out a trap but I personally have no experience with then and neither fo my parents, and we live in the middle of the woods where coyotes and bears literally walk up to our house, we are nervous that if we do set a trap up for her and we do end up catching her or another cat that something may try and take the cage or break it open , I personally don’t know how durable the cages are since we never went through this before so we don’t know if we do trap her if she’s better off being able to run away and hide or being stuck if something does try and get her ☹️

Donna Wojtowicz we’ve been up every night following your advice and others advice , so far we have yet to see any signs of her , we aren’t giving up hope on her but where I live is in the woods, there’s 3 neighbors and a mild long dirt road , every other direction is woods , we wanna set up a trap but we are nervous something may try and take the cage or break it open if we do catch her, we left my dads shirt outside along with some food and camera pointed at the food ☹️

Sharon Lee Petroski Yasneski we want to set up a trap, but where I live we live in the woods, we have coyotes, foxes, bears, etc, so we are nervous that if we do end up catching her that something may try and take the cage or break it open so we don’t know if she’s safer being able to run or being confined because coyotes walk right up to our house same with other predators too ☹️I have no experience with traps so I’m not sure how durable the cage is😞

Most cats are scared when they get out. They find first safe spot and this is where they stay, this is usually within a half block from your home in any direction. Best time to look is after midnite and up to 3 am when the scarey daytime noises stop. Sit outside your house, near the place kitty escaped from. Stay put for at least an hour, talking in a normal tone so kitty can hear you. Have familiar smells with you, like litter box or favorite food or treats. If weather is mild, consider sleeping on your porch. Do this every night, same time...between midnight and 3 am. You could also try walking around the neighborhood. Take a flashlight and shine it to watch for the glow of cat eyes. Take a can of food or treats to shake. .something your cat loves. Softly call kitty name. You may have to go several nights in row, at same time. Kitty will be cautious, must know it is you before she shows herself. Listen closely for soft meows...she wants to be found. Don't give up, cats are resilient and smart. I would be so bold as to say 95% of lost cats are within a hundred feet of house but are not found because owner gives up. Cats can be missing for weeks and months, being steps from your house. Many good stories of cats coming home, even after much time passes. Hang flyers in neighborhood. ..people need to know she is missing, so they don't assume she is a stray if they see her. I found my cat after putting flyers on house for blocks in my neighborhood. People have seen her, someone may be feeding her...you have to get word out IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD! Have neighbors check garages and sheds. She could be trapped in one of those locations. Contact shelters and stay in touch with them. Most importantly, have faith and be consistently persistent in active regular searches AT NIGHT. good luck with getting her back. It will happen.
