General Information: Cats (if they are indoor cats) are usually close to home. (Within 5 - 6 houses away). After checking all possible hiding places in your home, hang clothes with your scent out. Scent only - no food. Ask your neighbors if they would look in their yard or garage to see if she is there or if they have a Ring camera (if applicable) to see if she was spotted on camera. Post fliers with your contact information on it around the area she is missing so if she is spotted the person can tell you her location. Keep an access point open for her to slip back in your home. Look in bushes or hiding spots around your home as if this cat is unfamiliar with being outdoors she is most probably scared of all the new sounds and smells and she will make herself safe by finding a hiding spot. Someone posted that they found their cat in a tree - meowing softly. Sometimes the best time to find your cat is when the noise level is low - after hours - or early morning hours. Take a flashlight and look for the shining eyes. Good luck.

Place dirty laundry outside. Scents will help guide him home. Please place flyers everywhere and check all the local shelters. Also search your neighborhood after dark with a flashlight. He's probably hiding nearby. Bring treats and call his name. 🐱♥️🙏

If it’s an indoor kitty it is really important he/she has a safe way back in so leave a door open (all day and night) as they typically try to return when it’s late hours and quiet. Open a door or window where they escaped from and crack your garage door so he/she can get back inside safely. Also place your dirty worn clothes outside up off the ground where the breeze will carry your scent. It may lure them back. No food or water outside because it attracts everyone else. Cats don't usually go too far. Talk to neighbors. He/she might be camped out in their yard, and they don't know it is yours. Also ask neighbors to check their cameras (Ring, etc). Put up signs-IMPORTANT ASAP! Keep in mind, not everyone is on social media. Social Media - post on Facebook, Nextdoor, and PawBoost Lost & Found: Post pictures of your pet on Facebook and ask your friends to pass around. Also, please be aware there are scammers that will text you stating they have your cat and will send you pics if you send them $$ - do NOT fall for that!!
