I was oh so wrong when I said I didn't want a pitbull. I actually didn't know a pitbull just the horror stories which BTW can happen with any breed. I'm 55, have had small to large dogs since my 1st birthday. Many breeds. I accepted a puppy 2yrs ago thinking he was a boxer. Wrong again, he's a pit. He has his fair share of quirks as have each dog I've had such as anxiety. I too have had my share of anxiety problems thank goodness Dr's didn't toss me aside nor did I him. Within a couple weeks of having him, talking to him, cuddling, making eye contact, I could just tell, Not because I'm the dog whisperer but by watching his facial expressions and learning him and knowing that with him coming from a kennel with his loving mom and his forever brothers and sisters to moving in here with us, our 13yr old dachund, 2yr old kitten, tvs playing, ppl talking all the time, I knew that I could expect some amount of anxiety so I looked for it in his movements such as sudden movement usually following a doggie dream or sudden noise like the volume in the TV changing. I spent omg countless hours, days on and weeks on end studying my Lexx (Lexx Lekie when I sing to him lol) and learned he has many different facial expressions. Now don't ask me in general how do I know bc I can't explain to you what he looks like with each feeling, it's something you learn watching facial expressions, them dreaming, what they look like when completely relaxed and at rest vs how they look when anxious, sad, over stimulated, relaxed and more importantly, 😊 happy!! I learned that my boy loves being babied so when he would fight his sleep, I started scratching his back (try it) and he loves it so good that he will back up to me, sit like a person waiting for me to scratch his back and if he thinks I'm taking too long to start he rolls his eyes at me 😳 I wish I'd taken the time to learn all my pets this well but I've learned that's what counts 😊 Lexx was free, the breeder was trying to expand his kennels and we donated left over fencing and he gave him to us. The best pets don't necessarily cost hundreds of dollars. Consider free pets ♥️

Oh my gawd he’s so dayum cute!! I wish I owned a home with unlimited space and I wish I had the money to pay ever how many ppl I’d need to adopt every single dog I thought was so cute!! GOALS lol
