LOST OUTDOOR Kitty with outdoor experience? It should know its way home. But since it hasn't come home as usual, experts say it could be trapped/injured somewhere and needs you to search for it. Search its territory (can be up to a 1,500 foot radius around its home) - in/under sheds and decks, neighbors' garages, barns, up trees and roofs, in drains, roadside and every nook that it could seek refuge. At night, use a flashlight in dark areas to get a reflection from its eyes. For neighbors not on social media, knock on their doors and ask to search their property if possible. Ask if anyone feeds cats outside as kitty might be there. Hand out and post laminated, readable LOST fliers with pic and phone number on STOP signs in its territory to get important sightings. Go out with a container of its food, shake it and calmly call it to come eat. Stop and listen for meows. If in Cobb County check CC Animal Services intake photos - https://www.cobbcounty.gov/animal-services/lost-found-pets. For expert advice and support on kitty recovery, go to LostCatsGeorgia.com and register (even if not in GA). It is a free service. Report lost cat to county animal control and visit them. —Do Not leave out litter box. —Go to every business nearby and neighbor and ask them to check crawl spaces, basements, garages, sheds, under decks, etc. —you should check and have neighbors and businesses also Check water heater closet, behind oven or washing machine dryer etc - any space a cat could get into —Flyer if they aren’t home. All over. —Posters. —They’re usually very close by unless they got chased. —Check up trees at night. ******❤️❤️ Dusk (and even night, but especially dusk) and Dawn - these are good times to sit outside and talk loud enough for pets to hear you, but without panic in your voice. Talk to yourself. Hum. A friend’s cat went missing and she almost gave up after 2 weeks. She was sitting outside on her front steps one early evening and just talking and singing, sleep deprived. Then she was talking to herself. Her cat walked right up to her. It can’t hurt. Hear mama’s or papa’s voice, without panic. —Put reward amount on flyer 🙏 —when you check for messages here, check “message requests” - usually 3 lines/bars or so to click to find that option.
