Description

Gray and white domestic shorthair tabby with mackerel coat and a white undercoat with a tad of light brown fringe. Neutered male with a pink nose and white paws, around 5 years old. Slightly larger cat - approximately 12-15 lbs, about 2.5-3 ft in length from nose to tail base, and about 10 -12 in. tall at shoulder height. Somewhat timid but also very friendly and has a little higher pitched call. Currently wearing a gray flea collar but no tags/unchipped. Also loves to rub his face on shoes/feet and roll over on top of them. Onion is an indoor cat and was/is probably hiding around in the area when he slipped out, likely scared and unable to find his way back. I hope he returns safely and quickly!

I just emailed you suggestions for searching and further posting/reporting. If you didn't receive let me know. Kitty is likely hiding out close to home. Leave fresh food & water near where kitty escaped, as well as a large container as an outdoor shelter, with unwashed towel or blanket. Search often and thoroughly---under parked cars, down alleyways, in neighbors' yards, under shrubs/piles of debris, up trees, under porches, near dumpsters, in garages and sheds. Check for open basement doors and broken windows... Take a flashlight, carrier, and treats with you, and call her name while you search. Flyer neighbors' homes door-to-door, local businesses, along streets, on parked cars, etc. Ask neighbors to check their properties and to text you immediately if they see kitty. Post on nextdoor.com, WestPhillyCats, WestWilly, BaltimoreAveandBeyond (all fb) and craigslist lost&found. File a report with ACCT shelter (on website under lost pets) and post on their fb page LostAndFoundPhilly. Email a flyer to PAWS (gfclinic@phillypaws.org) and Morris Animal Refuge (downtown). Let Proj Meow (UC/WP) know if you'd like to borrow a humane trap (rfa @ projectmeow . org). Please keep us posted.
