Thank you for posting. Several people have already made good comments about how skinny he looks, and not doing well. And how coyotes are out all over. Can you put out some food and water, by where the photo was taken as he/she may come back? If you don't have cat food yet, raw chicken or tuna fish. Cooked chicken has bones which is bad for cats. And if you can, can buy some inexpensive dry cat food. Cats are creatures of habit, and if you do that it may keep coming back while you can find someone to trap the cat and take it to a rescue or someone who is willing to bring it back to health. The Humane Society has in its founding documents that it deals with "adoptable" pets. Because this cat isn't currently adoptable, that puts its life at risk. They are overcrowded at shelters. And may euthanize pets that aren't immediately adoptable. If you consider trapping and taking cat to them, ask them first what may happen to it. Some shelters loan out traps for a deposit. The Feral Society loans out traps. There is info online on how to set up a humane trap. Please keep us posted.

If it looks unwell or thin and does not have an ear that’s been tipped; which means it’s been spayed or neutered already and is a Communtiy Cat, you may want to reach out to East County Animal Rescue or go through the Humane Society and you can get a trap. So important to get these cats spayed and neutered that are on our streets.

🐾 Please post a few flyers around the neighborhood where he was found. Maybe he has a family looking for him, who don’t have a social media account. 🔍 Can you please give him a little food and water? If he’ll let you maybe have him checked for a chip at Petco, Petsmart or a vets office? They will do it for free. If you want to try trapping him, and traps are only $25 at Harbor Freight. If no one claims him PLEASE take him to a SDHS NO shelter or reach out to a Cat Rescue, they will trap him and find him a good home. He won’t last more than a couple of days with coyotes roaming our neighborhoods. Thank you for your help and kindness with this poor little kitten🙏🏼
