Description
Female Black and White Argentine Tegu. 44 inches long from snout to end of tail. Weighs about 5lbs. Black and white scale patterns, missing a fork on her tongue and one of her back toes. She is shy, so she might huff a little and wiggle if you pick her up. Best way to pick her up is to scoop under her arms and support the base of her tail.
Message from Owner
My Black & White Argentine Tegu, Cleo, decided to disappear on me while we were in the backyard yesterday. I was working on projects while she was getting some sunshine, I looked away for no more than 5 minutes and she was gone. I've been trying to find her all day. Tore apart the backyard, blocked off any access out of the yard, sadly haven't found her yet— so now I worry that she may have gotten out of the backyard. I am so worried about her. Please let me know if anyone sees her. We live near Lake Chabot Rd/Keith Rd/Huber Dr. She's a little under 4 feet long from snout to tip of her tail (she's pretty small for her species, the tail is almost twice her body size), weighs around 5lbs. She is shy, so she might huff a little and wiggle if you pick her up. Best way to pick her up is to scoop under her arms and support the base of her tail. She really likes reusable shopping bags and backpacks. So long as you don't put your hands in front of her mouth, chances of her biting anyone are very low. She just got done being loved on by a classroom of kids for 6 hours with no issues.
