Dogs get dementia too! Once they are out the gate they can't find their way back and they just start walking and often may walk for miles. Glad you found yours! Keep senior dogs close to you when they are outside the house it saves heartbreak.

I just drove by a dog wandering above the whitemud overpass at 178st, heading southbound. He looked a bit more grey. So much traffic I wasn’t able to get a picture. Hopefully someone does get a pic and put it up here

Leave your clothing outside and the gate or door open, and he may be able to scent his way back. If you see him, he may jump into the car if you leave the door open. He is probably hiding under something, so have peole check their yards under decks and vehicles. Take smelly treats with you. Put up big, bright posters in the area.
