Description

He is a Black Mouth Cur / Belgian Malinois mix ! (He wasn't DNA tested, but his sister Princess Bubblegum was and we were informed by the shelter) But he is often mistaken for a Lab mix or German Shepherd Mix. He has a submissive personality, super energetic and friendly. Tan coat with spots of black; mainly around his eyes and mouth. Also has a black streak from his lower back all the way down to the tip of his tail. The fur on his under belly and chest are white, then he also has a patch of white fur on the front of his neck. LOVES to jump (straight onto your kitchen counters or via scaling a 6 foot fence) and is extremely energetic, has most of the "typical" Belgian Malinois temperment/personality traits.

Message from Owner

I know it's a long shot, but does anyone recognize this dog or know of his whereabouts? His name is Jake, I had originally got him when he was 2 months old during an adoption event the shelter held at Potbelly where he was put up for adopted alongside his brother Finn(the human) and Princess Bubblegum. Male, a little over three years old now & he's a tan medium/large dog. The last I saw him he was around 75lbs & was intact / had not been nuetered. He was originally adopted out to me as a "Lab mix" & i believe listed as one again when he was returned to Austin Humane Society, which is when the first picture was taken, however him and his sister Bubblegum had DNA tests taken showing his breed as a Belgian Malinois / Black Mouth Cur mix. I can't go into the story much & don't feel it's appropriate to in this post. But back in late 2024, he was surrendered to Austin Animal Center without my knowledge by someone else, by the time I had found where he was taken he was already released to Austin Animal Center. When I first called them January of 2025, they stated that he hadn't been adopted out to a forever yet & was with a foster family, but were more than happy to have him united with me. They were able to provide me with his foster families information and told me they had contacted the foster to inform them that I was the original owner and had been looking for him, so that'd it would be a smooth transition to have him moved from their back to mine. However, when I contacted the Foster family they informed that earlier in that week he had broken out of their backyard and they hadn't been able to relocate him since. I left my contact information with both them and the shelter with a note to contact me immediately if he was found or happened to be resurrendered to Austin Humane Society, but I haven't heard anything since that day and the shelter has yet to locate him. I know it's been over a year now, and the chances of anyone having seen Jake or recognizing him is very slim, but I haven't once given up on finding him and a part of me still believes we'll be reunited again some day. If you recognize this baby or think you may have information on him PLEASE contact me immediately on here or by phone number) 🖤 If needed, I have proof of everything and of ownership.

Just because two puppies are from the same litter does not mean they have the same father or dna. The person who has this dog now, if he has a current owner, may have had it for over a year and is most likely attached to him, too.
