Yes, please get him to a vet as soon as you find him. He can get sepsis from that abscess. Go out at dusk and call his name. Cats are nocturnal. Also, put litter box on front porch where he can smell it.

Teresa, Jack has spent the night out there several time because Nelson would crawl in the window and hide out! When he goes out again I'll let him know to check around the blackberry bushes and more into the shrubs. I would be devastated if I lost one of my cats or my dog! Had to put down my 10 yr old cat 3 yrs ago due to cancer and I cried for weeks. It so hard to lose any of our fur babies! Breaks my heart!

Judith Hancock okay. He will stay in the area. Live trap might be an option. Can owner sit in a car and call for him? Shake a favorite toy. Check blackberry bushes, behind buildings. Hoping he is found soon.

Thank you all for you cooperation. Mary (90yr old owner) is really thankful for all of your help. It is greatly appreciated. She is a very caring person I have seen. She feeds all of the feral cats in our neighborhood and in other areas of east Portland. Her culture cares about all animals and they do what they can to care for them. So again, thank you all! We are hoping to find Nelson soon and get him into the vet and for him to get and be well.
