Message from Owner

Violet went missing on Sunday June 7th at 9pm. We just came in for going for a little walk around the courtyard.I was taking the leash off of the harness. The door was ajar, and she slipped out. Normally, she would stop and then roll around on the ground looking so cute, it would give me amnesa. Violet was seen on ring looking straight into the camera the front door pier/4th And on another camera walking on a wall betwee two properties next door. Violet never made it home? This is not like Violet. Se loves dry food will not eat wet food. She like to sleep under a tent made from a sheet or blanket. She is very sweet. Violet does not like being left alone.

Lost Cat I am so sorry. Get posters out throughout a large square block radius. Cats typically remain close by. MAKE SURE YOU OFFER A REWARD IN BIG RED LETTERS. ITS INCENTIVE FOR PEOPLE TO PAY ATTENTION. EXPECT SPAM CALLS. People are jerks but the good people will pay attention! Let your mailman/woman know and provide them with a poster. And if you can, set up a Ring camera or ask neighbors that are close by to check their camera footage. Stay in contact with your neighbors and have them check their sheds, garages and underneath their homes. Cats come out late at night when they are not in fight or flight mode. If you can, leave your door ajar or a window where they usually perch open so that if they return overnight, they can get back inside. You can also set a human trap. There a helpful YouTube videos on how to do this. Lastly, if you have the funds, contact Landa the Pet Detective. If you can afford her, do so immediately. Her hounds will track your dog’s scent. And make sure if you have your pet microchipped that the info is up to date. Alert the microchip company that your pet is missing. One more thing, if your cat is an outdoor cat, put a GPS collar on them. This is a game changer or consider a Catio so they can be outdoors but never get lost or stollen. ⚠️ IMPORTANT info for anyone who’s lost or found a pet in the LA or Riverside areas! PetcoLoveLost.org, the largest national lost-and-found pet database (and the only one using image matching technology) is working with 20+ LA shelters to reunite lost and found pets. If you share about a pet, make sure you also file a report on PetcoLoveLost.org! It’s 100% free, it’s private, and it will instantly find your pet if they’re at ANY shelter in Southern California. And not just pets in shelters; thousands and thousands of privately-reported lost and found pets, as well as pets posted on Nextdoor, Pawboost, Neighbors and Ring! Together, we’ll keep our shelters empty and get pets back home where they belong! Feel free to reach out to our team on our new L.A. area community page Lost Pets Los Angeles - Petco Love Lost Community if you have any questions. I also read an article recently about a business in New Hampshire that uses drone and thermal technology to locate lost pets. I am not sure if a Service like this is offered in Los Angeles, but it might be worth looking into.

Lost Cats‼️ Indoor only cats and limited outdoor access cats never go far. They go into survival mode and hide in silence. Most of them will not respond when they are in survival mode. 3 AM is the best time to find a missing indoor only cat. This is the time they become most active and responsive. Sit and quietly call for your kitty. Try to stay low, standing is intimidating to cats. Place some dirty socks and pillow cases outside. Your scent will attract your kitty. If you have a garage, place the items near the garage door and crack the door enough for her to get in. DO NOT leave food or litter box outside, it can attract predators and aggressive Tom cats. Because indoor only cats hide so well they are not as likely to be ed by a predator. Don't give up, it can take months to find a missing indoor only cat. Use a flashlight as late at night as you can to look in trees, under cars and in bushes. Try to look for the glow of her eyes. The best chance of you being reunited with your cat is to do a methodical search of the area. Most indoor only cats will be within 160 feet of your home. Survival mode lasts 5 to 14 days but can last longer. Once their hunger gets to a maximum they can snap out of it but this is a dangerous time because they come out of hiding. The majority of cats will try to make a break for home on the 5th night. In addition to posted flyers, make mini flyers and hand them out to your neighbors. Some people don't pay attention to posted flyers. It's VERY VERY important that you look for her as late at night as you can. If you have other cats, watch them. If they are spending a lot of time looking out a certain window, that’s a good indication the missing cat is in that area. Wildlife and motion activated cameras are also helpful. a lot of people are successful trapping their indoor only cats. If you decide to trap, you must watch the trap closely, predators can a cat in a trap.
