Message from Owner

Our 7-year-old Bernedoodle was heavily spooked by fireworks on the evening of July 3rd and bolted into the woods. He is terrified and has been out for 24 hours. He has never bitten anyone, and is NOT aggressive. ⚠️ PLEASE DO NOT CHASE HIM. ⚠️ Calling his name gently is fine, but because he is so scared, he might run further if anyone tries to catch him, chase him, or try’s to corner him. If you spot him, please do not try to grab him. Just keep an eye on him from a distance and text or call us IMMEDIATELY with the exact location. We are heartbroken and desperately want to get him secured. Please share this with anyone staying at Little Arrow or living near Townsend Highway! Call/Text with sightings: or

❤️ COWAN HAS BEEN FOUND! ❤️ After an incredibly long, emotional week, Cowan is finally home. We found him at the Townsend Wye just as the river was rapidly rising from the thunderstorms. He was dangerously close to being swept away by the rushing water, and we truly believe we found him just in time. He is exhausted, underweight, and will be receiving veterinary care as we begin helping him recover from nearly a week alone in the Smoky Mountains. While we are beyond grateful to have him back, his journey isn’t quite over yet. We cannot begin to express our gratitude to everyone who helped bring him home. Thank you to the National Park Service staff, the volunteers who spent countless hours searching, every person who shared our posts, reported sightings, slowed down to watch the roads and river, and kept our family in your thoughts and prayers. Your kindness gave us hope when we needed it most. This experience has shown us just how incredible people can be. Complete strangers gave their time, resources, and compassion to help reunite our family with our best friend, and we will never forget that. Many of you have asked how you can continue to help. We created a GoFundMe to assist with Cowan’s veterinary care, recovery, and the unexpected expenses our family incurred during the search. If you are able to contribute, we are deeply grateful. If not, simply sharing this post means the world to us. GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/9c759f5e4 From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing Cowan could be found and for helping make that hope a reality.
