Standard suggestions (change the pronouns as necessary):
Put out anything with her scent on it, and be sure to continue putting food/water out for her. If you have a trail camera (or can borrow one), set it up. Leave your garage or screened in porch open in case she shows up in the middle of the night. Ask any neighbors with Ring doorbells or security cameras to check their footage since she disappeared. Be sure to file a missing report with the shelter - go there in person and check every couple of days as the shelters are all currently short staffed and don't have time to match intakes with lost reports. Notify area vets, and if you have an HOA, ask them to send a blast to residents. If any of your neighbors have had crawlspaces, garages, or sheds open or any construction, make sure she hasn't gotten closed up somewhere. Go out after dark with a flashlight calling for her and shaking her favorite container of treats. Post flyers in the neighborhood and go door-to-door, talking to your neighbors and handing out flyers. Give flyers to area delivery personnel such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, Amazon, etc. Ask kids in the area to keep a look out for her. Post her on Nextdoor, Pawboost and on Lost and Found Pets Hampton Roads Facebook page as well as any Lost and Found Pets and any 411 Facebook pages specific to your locality. If she's microchipped, be sure to notify the registry - and make certain your contact information with the registry is current - so many microchipped animals cannot be returned to their families because their contact information is out of date or the microchip was never actually registered.Read More
Go to the Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter on Jefferson across from Briarfield. You must go in person, they cannot help you over the phone, too many animals there. I hope you find your baby. If he’s not at the shelter, get out and look, and ask your neighbors to help. Call everyone you know in the area to make them aware. 💜🐾Read More
