Is Breezy chipped? I sure hope so. If he is, contact the microchip company right away to report him missing. Was he wearing his collar with license, owner ID tag and microchip tag when he got lost? Again, I hope so. Those two things are the most important steps that all new pet parents should do as soon as they adopt - to keep their pets safe in case of the situation with Breezy. And how did he get lost? I hope not left outside unsupervised. It's just too dangerous for dogs (and cats, too). Too many bad things can and will happen. For more FREE publicity, share this information on Lostmydoggie.com, Petharbor.com, Nextdoor.com and Messenger. First two, like Pawboost, have separate pages for LOST and FOUND pets, so a match often occurs. Keep checking often. First two also share their posts electronically with veterinary hospitals and shelters. Nextdoor and Messenger reach the largest number of your closest neighbors and beyond. All of this is free. Make and post fliers all around the neighborhood, even on your car. Take some to veterinary hospitals and shelters, even homeless shelters, and check back often. While you're out posting fliers, knock on people's doors to see if anyone has seen Breezy. Leave something of his or yours outside so he can detect the scent - a shirt or towel or socks, or a puppy bed or favorite toy. Go out every day at a different time each day with treats, and call his name. I hope you'll have him back home very soon. And make sure you take the proper steps, if you haven't already, to keep him safe from now on. Good luck. Sharing now.
